The Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority (COTA) will resume its Call-A-Ride Saipan/Demand Response Shared Ride Service beginning Monday, June 22, 2020.
To make a reservation, please call COTA’s One Call/One Click Transportation Information Resource Center two (2) days in advance at (670) 664-2690.
COTA’s hours of operation are as follows: Monday to Friday: 6:30AM-7:00PM Saturday, Sunday and Holidays: 6:30AM- 4:00PM For more information, please feel free to contact us at (670) 664-2682.
This is to notify the general public that effective April 5, 2020, Saipan’s Flame Tree Line 1A (Fixed- route service) will be suspended indefinitely due to low ridership. The Flame Tree Line 1A is the only fixed-route public transportation system on the island of Saipan, implemented on April 9, 2018 as a pilot project.
Individuals who will be affected by the proposed suspension of the Saipan Flame Tree Line 1A Fixed-Route Service can still use the COTA demand response service (Call-A-Ride Saipan) to go to places of employment, medical appointments, etc.
Your understanding of the proposed suspension of the only fixed-route service on the island of Saipan is greatly appreciated.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Commonwealth Office of Transit Authority (COTA) at (670) 664-2682 or via email to Mr. Diego B. Songsong, Community Planner/Title VI Coordinator, at diego.songsong@gov.mp.
